Help needed to save "Diversity Day"
After 20 years of entertaining the Walla Walla community with songs and dances from around the world, the Diversity Coalition may be closing down the show. The Diversity Day Multicultural Arts Festival, usually celebrated on Father’s Day in Pioneer Park, is very likely not going to take place this year, unless more people join the coalition and share some of the organizing duties.
We invite you to participate! The Walla Walla Diversity Coalition was formed in 1994 to promote communication, respect, and understanding among all members of the human community. The Walla Walla Diversity Coalition seeks to prevent discrimination against, and promotes cooperation among all members of the human community, regardless of culture, color, religion, gender, sexual identity, national or ethnic origin, age, handicap, or other differences. The Coalition would like to thank the following 2013 Freedom from Discrimination Month sponsors: Walla Walla Community College, The Walla Walla Union Bulletin and Whitman College.
The hope of a culturally rich, diverse and tolerant future is widespread. Many of the goals of the Walla Walla Diversity Coalition are shared by a variety individuals and organizations in our community.
